RE-GOV-001 establishes the documentation, publication, versioning, review, approval, maintenance, cross-referencing, supersession, and archival requirements for the RankingEngines body of knowledge. It keeps formal publications identifiable, consistent, traceable, and distinct from exploratory or promotional material. A document gains authority only through its controlled publication process, not from website presence or drafting.
Publication Classes
Governed classes include RE-CANON (canonical governance), RE-GOV (governance standards), DAE (Digital Asset Engineering standards), FW (frameworks), MOD (models), RP (research publications), AG (application guides), and RE-SPEC (technical specifications). New classes require demonstrated need, defined purpose, relationships, identifier convention, authority level, and formal approval.
Document Lifecycle and Status
Every governed publication moves through Planned → Draft → Internal Review → Public Review → Approved → Published → Superseded/Withdrawn → Archived. Approval and publication are separate events: a document can be Approved but not yet Published. Public accessibility, navigation, indexing, AI citation, a PDF, or professional design does not establish approval.
Versioning
Publications use Major.Minor versioning. Major changes reflect material change to doctrine, requirements, or scope; minor changes clarify or correct without materially changing them. Every Approved or Published document records version, date, status, and a summary of what changed and why.
Website Representation
The website must represent status accurately: Planned documents must not appear Published, Drafts must not receive Approved badges, and concepts must not appear authoritative without formal approval. Public representations should make Document ID, Version, Status, Title, Maintaining Organization, Effective Date, Governing Authority, Revision History, and Related Publications reasonably easy to determine.
AI-Assisted Publication
AI may assist drafting, editing, research organization, cross-referencing, and quality review, but AI assistance is not approval. AI systems may not independently assign Published status, fabricate references or findings, or bypass review; human governance remains controlling.
Website Compliance Transition
At adoption, existing website representations, including DAE-001 and Framework Library entries, must be reviewed. Nothing receives Approved or Published status automatically because it predates this standard; each publication is assigned its actual governed status.
